Temple Ruins Tour

Tour description: It is designed for guests who are researchers, pilgrims or Buddhism-interesting guests to visit biggest Buddhist monasteries and Buddhist temple ruins while travelling beautiful nature.
Day 1 Ulaanbaatar city tour
Arrival in Ulaanbaatar. On arrival, you are welcomed by a representative from Enjoy Mongolia Travel and are transferred to your hotel. City sightseeing tour including a visit Central square, where all central departments including Government house and Chinggis khaan’s statue situated on. Visit to Gandantegchilen monastery. Visit to Zaisan Hill War Memorial. Next to the memorial, there is a Buddha garden and statue. Overnight in a hotel.
Day 2 Visit to Temples in Ulaanbaatar
Visit to the Bogd Khan palace museum. Then visit to the Choijin Lama temple museum. Visiting other optional temples and Buddhist sites in Ulaanbaatar.
Day 3 Erdenehamba Monastery
Drive out Ulaanbaatar to Khugnu Khan mountain. There is a Buddhist temple built in later time beside old temple ruin. It is located in a beautiful mountain. Explore the area and ruin. Overnight here in tents or ger camps also available.
Day 4 Kharakhorum city and Erdenezuu Monastery
Drive to Kharakhorum city. Visit Erdenezuu monastery founded in 1586 by Avtai Sain Khan who was the desendant of Chinggis khan golden lineage. According to the historical resources, there were 62 temples inside the wall of Erdenezuu in 1872. During the period of the time 1930s, it was twice severely affected and its unique properties and relics were damaged. Most of the temples were destroyed that time, and Erdenezuu monastery was taken under the State Protection. It was opened as museum in 1965. Explore the Kharakhorum city and visit to the Ogodei Khan palace ruins and much more. Overnight here in ger camp or tents in the bank of Orkhon River.
Day 5 Tuvkhun hermitage monastery
Drive to Shanh monastery, founded in 1647 on the occasion of 13th birthday of Undur Gegeen Zanabazar, who was famous social and religious figure of Mongolia. It was founded “the sanctuary place of Buddhist saint monk”. Then, to Tuvkhun hermitage monastery, located on a stage on the top of the Tuvkhun Shireet Mountain elevated in 2300 m above sea level. It was sacramental place used for meditation creative works. It was the hermitage monastery including the studio of Undur Gegeen Zanabazar, who founded the Mongol school of religious arts and minted Buddhas, which are now highly respected and recognized worldwide. Overnight in the bank of Orkhon River.
Day 6 Back to Ulaanbaatar
Drive back to Ulaanbaatar. It takeks whole day including stops.
