Tour description: Travelling through Arhangai province, includes many historical places of Mongolia. Exploring Bulgan province forested mountains, Lake Khuvsgul, Khuvsgul range mountains. This overland tour offers the most beautiful mountainous areas and forests, one of the largest fresh water lakes in the world (125 km long and 30 km wide and 262 m deep), which makes this journey magical and unique.

Day 1 Ulaanbaatar city tour
On arrival, you are welcomed by a representative from Enjoy Mongolia Travel and are transferred to your hotel. City sightseeing tour including a visit Central square, where all central departments including Government house and Chinggis khaan’s statue situated on. The next things to see will be Mongolian National Museum (or please choose from the other museums). Visit to the Zaisan Hill War Memorial to get bearings with a panoramic view of the whole city. Overnight in a hotel.
Day 2 Elsentasarkhai sand dunes and Kharakhorum
Drive out to the Elsentasarkhai sand dune, one of the Mongolia’s biggest sand dunes. Drive to Mongolia’s ancient capital, Karakorum, was founded in 1220, in the Orkhon Valley, at the crossroads of the Silk Route. It was from there that the Mongolia Empire was governed, until Kublai khan moved it to Beijing. There you’ll visit Erdene Zuu monastery, the symbolic ruins of Karakorum. Overnight in tents at the bank of Orkhon river.
Day 3 Tsetserleg city and visit to Zaya Gegeen Monastery
Drive to Tsetserleg, the central town of Arkhangai province. Tsetserleg is located in beautiful mountains covered with forest. The name tsetserleg means “Garden”. We will visit a museum and a monastery in the town and will camp in tents in Tamir River valley after driving 20 km from the town. Overnight in tents.
Day 4 Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake National Park
Drive to Terkhiin Tsagaan lake with crystal clear water in rich of fish at an altitude of 2060m above the sea level. The lake is known in English as the Great White Lake, this freshwater lake (and the volcanic area around it) is certainly the highlight of Arkhangai province. Exploring the lake. Fishing and swimming are available. Overnight in a tourist camp at the shore of Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake.
Day 5 Horse riding to Khorgo Extinct Volcano
Horse riding day. Horse trek along Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake and visit Horgo volcano mountain (2965m), dormant volcano covered with basalt lying in the east of Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake. Horse trekking distance around 12km. Overnight in the camp.
Day 6 Horse riding around the lake
Horse trekking along the north side of Terkhiin Tsagaan lake. Overnight in tents at the west shore of the lake. Trekking distance around 15 km.
Day 7 Drive through Khangai Mountain Range
Drive towards Khuvsgul lake, 2760 sq km alpine lake with water so pure you can drink it. The lake is surrounded by dozens of mountains 2000m high or more, thick pine forests and lush meadows with grazing yaks and horses. Geologically speaking, Khuvsgul is the younger sibling of Siberia’s lake Baikal. On the way to get Khuvsgul, we will sleep near to Shine Ider soum locating at the bank of Ider River in the beautiful natural surroundings. The river is a home of various types of fish. Overnight in tents.
